]]> Our August 10, 2021, workshop on “A Strategic Approach to Integrate Stormwater and Sewer Systems” is now available for viewing! Recent implementation of multi‐benefit stormwater projects and programs have been gaining momentum throughout Southern California, especially within Los Angeles County. These projects are intended to provide benefits of increasing water supply, improving water quality, and providing tangible community benefits. However, unless these projects capture and infiltrate water in areas that augment groundwater, or the captured stormwater is used directly on‐site, then no water supply benefit is achieved. The expert panel discusses these issues as well as a guide for cities on how to implement the strategy and how to approach wastewater agencies about working together.

]]> Our August 6 webinar on “Stormwater Matters” is now available for viewing! This fifth installment of our What Matters webinar series featured an expert panel to discuss the latest in innovative stormwater capture and treatment projects. Stormwater capture is gaining traction as key to California’s future water supplies. 

 

From L.A. County’s Safe Clean Water Program to the Mayor of Los Angeles’ pledge of 100% wastewater reuse by 2035 to MWD’s announcement of a $5 million for stormwater capture projects to the actions outlined in the California Governor’s Water Resilience Portfolio, all eyes in the water world are on how counties, cities and agencies are making stormwater capture projects work in urban areas with constrained resources.

More than 300 attendees heard from leaders of key agencies already working together to collaborate and bring innovative new projects to life, all while balancing cost-effectiveness with design that brings multiple benefits. Our expert panel featured:
